Microsoft Extends Oive Branch After OneDrive Cloud Storage Storm

Microsoft has backtracked on reactions in service to cloud storage limits onedrive last month, returning part of the data map, which was created to make excuses and blame overuse users. But customers still have to choose to keep their extra storage, and the changes will end after one year.

The company confirmed the changes in a post on his forum onedrive users, giving users "affected" by changes in the opportunity for additional storage for a limited time, and the possibility of opting to keep premiums when free storage onedrive plans are reviewed early next year.

The mea culpa comes a month after Microsoft announced major changes in cloud storage, halving the storage limits for the payment plan (while the same price is maintained), the lower limits of free maps 15 GB 5 GB, leaving its storage chamber storage roll bonus of 15 GB and completely demolished "unlimited" for all users.

The company hopes the move will appease customers and gain some favor in a market and competitive cloud storage.

Microsoft is against rivals like Dropbox, Google Drive and Apple's iCloud-centric, hoping to be the only place where users can store all your files to access cloud based everywhere. While each provider offers free storage, these companies generate their revenues through payment plans and storage limits are the kings of deciding where customers are willing to hang their hats (and files).

But the group program manager Douglas Pearce Microsoft came hat in hand to customers, apologizing for the recent changes in the onedrive schemes and the way they were communicated. In his message on the forum of onedrive user, Pearce said. "Sincerely sorry for the frustration that this decision caused" "The announcement came across as blaming customers for the use of our product" and Microsoft was Culpa called Microsoft calling for "a small number of users" on unlimited plans to "extreme scenarios copy of security," in some cases up to 75TB data stored in the cloud.

While Microsoft initially established on the restriction of use, Pearce said Cabinet 365 payment, personal customers, and the University will continue to receive 1TB storage, and users who have received additional storage under Microsoft offers unlimited maintain this limit for at least 12 months.

For better with dissatisfied customers of free service, anyone with more than 5 GB of content stored in the cloud (in the old limit of 15 GB free storage) will receive 365 personal desktop without subscription for a year. The offer will arrive by mail early next year, and will bring 1TB of storage.

Finally, Microsoft offers an opt-in for their "biggest fans" keep your 15 GB of free storage after storage limits are cut early next year (and keep your camera roll edge 15 Well, if you currently have instead). And what constitutes being a fan? Onedrive go to the website in late January 2016 and connect to the bonus.

While the changes may take a long way to pacify irate customers about storage limitations, still go part of the way to scrounge cuts in November. Moreover, customers will be the main users to enjoy the existing bonus or opt for a raise. There is also no word on whether the changes will last more than a year.
